Please join us for the opening of The Troubling Sings, an exhibition from Jen Sperry Steinorth’s award-winning book, Her Read, A Graphic Poem. Of this work Fleda Brown writes, “…a study in desire and erotic play— amusing, troubling, beautiful, and broken. It sings the pain of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers. Its originality and heart leave me breathless” and the Los Angeles Review lauds, “joyful and painful, hilarious, and serious. Each page reveals that Steinorth’s poetry is art and her art is poetry.”

The evening will include multi-modal readings and a discussion on erasure and mental health with celebrated poets Aaron Coleman, Jennifer Metsker, Lauren Russell and Jennifer Sperry Steinorth along with Leland-born visual artist, Madison Grosvenor. Doors open at 6pm for art & light refreshments; reading begins at 7pm. Join us at the Galleries & Studio of Cedar North, 2312 E. Kasson Rd. Cedar, Mi, www.cedarnorthtc.com/classroom.

Hosted by Cedar North & Crosshatch Center for Art & Ecology
